PMD Review

Personal Microderm (PMD) is an at home alternative to expensive professional microdermabrasion treatments. I’ve eyed these products up for some time now, so you can imagine my excitement at a collaboration opportunity!

I’ve been able to try the; PMD Pro and PMD Clean Pro.

PMD

This exfoliates with suction to reveal smoother skin. It removes the dead skin cell barrier promoting new, healthier cell production. The vacuum suction device removes dead skin hygienically and it’s weirdly exciting to look at how much the cap has collected after using! This suction process also helps to produce collagen and firmer skin.

I started with the ultra sensitive disk. It’s coated in non-toxic aluminium oxide crystals – the same as professional microdermabrasion salons and doctors. You don’t need to apply pressure, but you do only need to cover each area of your face once, making sure you don’t hold it for too long. This treatment is only required once a week, but you can increase intensity of disks as your skin adjusts. The PMD Pro version has two speeds.

I found that it was fairly easy to use and it also comes with a larger cap to use on your body. It doesn’t hurt, but make sure you don’t over exfoliate one area. I like that it comes with replacement heads and you can also purchase top ups for your preferred intensity separately. I would really like to see a charged version or battery operated in the future.

PMD Clean Pro

It’s made largely from silicone, so it’s waterproof. It has small bumps which vibrate (two intensities on the Pro version). The silicone also means it’s antibacterial and odor resistant.

It’s designed to vibrate with 7000 vibrations per minute. This penetrates and loosens dirt, whilst also firming and toning.

So, I’ve been using it daily as a makeup remover and cleansing tool. I have sensitive skin, so I was a little hesitant. However, the process is gentle, but effective. My skin was not irritated at all, infact quite the opposite. I genuinely noticed that my skin seemed smoother and clearer of spots. If I ever doubted the need of it before, those doubts have completely disappeared. This product has changed my routine completely. No more rough face cloths!

Additionally on the pro models, there is a heated massage disk with ActiveWarmth™. This helps oils and serums to penetrate deeper into skin. With the pulsations, blood flow is stimulated and collagen produced – so fighting wrinkles!

The fact that it can be charged and then used remotely is great. Which is an upgrade to the battery operated first version. It also comes in many pretty colours.

PMD also offer a lip plumping device, which I’m really tempted to try next!

  1. WOW that sounds a great product! I am so much interested to try out this device. Few days back I was sent a face cleansing device by the brand Duvolle and enjoyed much using it. I posted a blog post and a video that you might be interested to check. But after that I am more interested to try different brushes and devices ! This product looks soooo good ! Thanks for sharing.
